Idea Connection Systems has invested 30 years into dissecting, understanding, and interpreting human dynamics to affect implementable and tangible change for organizations. The ISPI Instrument is the culmination of that effort and a valuable tool for businesses, organizations, and government agencies across many industries to incorporate within their leadership and departmental restructuring and optimization processes. The ISPI tool is designed to provide insight into an individuals dynamics at their given point of taking the instrument and therefore can be used by organizations to ensure the continued successful future of their people’s innovation success.

In today’s market, it is increasingly important that organizations maximize the effectiveness of their human assets to achieve the greatest possible output. The Innovation Strengths Preference Indicator® (ISPI™) will allow you to see the invisible dynamics of your people, team, and organization to realize your true innovative potential.
The ISPI™ highlights 12 orientations that compose an individual’s predispositions for a certain type of innovation. It makes visible the way an individual prefers to solve problems and what impacts their motivation, passion and decision-making. The ISPI™ also shows how one prefers to work with others and deal with control. These orientations impact innovation results.
The ISPI™ is taken online at a dedicated secure website. It consists of 50 questions that take 15 to 20 minutes to complete. You can take the ISPI™ as an individual or create an organizational or team specific database. The ISPI™ costs $75 per user, with volume discounts starting at 100 users.
Why We Created the ISPI™
We have been using psychological instruments and tools for over 35 years. Although these tools are excellent at what they do, until we developed the ISPI™, there was not an effective way to integrate the information from the individual tools into a composite picture. Without this integrated view, leveraging the information was time-consuming and difficult for the innovation leader. We also found that our clients do not want to spend hours answering hundreds of questions about themselves and then spending additional hours sitting through feedback sessions on each instrument.
We created the ISPI™ because the results help us manage the process that makes innovation happen. By understanding the orientations that impact innovation, we are able to leverage the strengths of individuals, teams, and organizations. There is not an ideal ISPI™ profile. By making invisible preferences visible, the ISPI™ helps people recognize and appreciate the different strengths that each of us possess.
At the core, we created the ISPI™ to contribute to a quotation by Peter Drucker [1909–2005], an author and consultant on strategy and policy for top management, businesses, and non-profits:
