The ICS representatives were joined by Margaret Rosenfeld and Ryan Ewers who both head Odyssey of Humanity-the non-profit agency home of the Mosaic Partnership Program.
Attending the Council on Foundation’ Annual meeting (#COFAnnual) is a huge step towards the goals of Odyssey of Humanity (OOH) with the Mosaic Partnership Program (#Mosaic and #CognitiveDissonance) and Idea Connection Systems’ efforts in helping organization leadership leverage the human dynamics that make innovation happen.  At this widely attended 3 day conference both ICS and Odyssey of Humanity representatives are able to exchange ideas and openly discuss challenges and solutions directly with foundation leaders.
“ This being my first year at the Council on Foundations Conference I was beyond impressed with the speakers and breakout sessions. The focus and commitment that many of the participants have taken to keep diversity, inclusion and equity at the forefront of their foundations was refreshing” -Maggie Rosenfeld, Chair of Odyssey of Humanity
The Council on Foundation’s Annual meeting promotes connecting with a community of foundation colleagues, making an Impact by enhancing attendee’s career paths with knowledge and skills learned at breakout sessions and the Advancement to promote and preserve a strong voice for philanthropy.  The Council’s mission is to Provide the opportunity, leadership, and tools needed by philanthropic organizations to expand, enhance, and sustain their ability to advance the common good.
Odyssey of Humanity’s purpose includes supporting the creation of prejudice free zones in communities and create a “critical mass” in a community that will lead it toward becoming a “prejudice free” region.  OOH strives to support the creation of a sense of unity in communities that is enhanced by our diversity. To support the creation of cognitive dissonance between people of difference wherein people discover the “other” person is not as different as previously seen and the differences that remain add value to the relationship and to society.
“The theme of this year’s Council on Foundations Conference and the future of Odyssey of Humanity is directly tied to how we collaborate with other organizations across sectors to influence inclusive and equitable outcomes for communities across the U.S. and the globe. We are eager to build on the collective momentum in the philanthropy space to redefine problem definitions and how we evaluate them. “Ryan Ewers, Director of Mosaic Partnerships for Odyssey of Humanity
Idea Connection Systems’ mission is to serve and partner with clients in their creation of new.  While for some this mission statement creates more questions than answers, its very fitting for the work that ICS goes about doing.  ICS focuses on the human dynamics that make innovation happen and are critically required for innovation to occur.  While many innovation consultancies are only focused on helping clients find that innovation “spark” one time, ICS focuses on sustained innovation so ICS clients enjoy actualized innovation over and over again.
“The growth of the foundation and non-profit sectors speaks to the need for helping organizations with social innovations. We were very pleased to be able to share some of our frameworks around goals, people and culture…and I feel confident that we assisted those whose mission is to help so many others.”Andrew Harrison, ICS Innovation Ambassador
As part of ICS’ breakout session at the Council on Foundation’s Annual meeting, attendees were discovered ICS’ proprietary tool the Innovation Strengths’ Preference Indicator® (ISPI™); ICS  and philanthropic  professionals  and leaders are able to best harness the human aspects that are critically required for innovation to occur again and again.  The ISPI™ was created by Robert Rosenfeld and is one of the only innovation tools available that provides a” whole person” approach to understanding how individuals innovate and identifies individual strengths for innovation.  The Innovation Strengths Preference Indicator® offers 3 dimensional insights by looking at the Affective, Conative and Cognitive aspects of personality where most other instruments only offer two dimensional views at most.  The ISPI™ highlights an individual’s predispositions for a certain type of innovation. The ISPI™ makes visible the way an individual prefers to solve problems, what impacts their motivation, passion and decision making, as well as how they prefer to deal with control and work with others.
